Michigan football: Kwity Paye turns heads with eye-popping 40 at Pro Day

NCAA Football, NFL Draft

Look for Michigan football star Kwity Paye to move up draft boards after his Pro Day.

Former Michigan football standout Kwity Paye was already slated to be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but after his Pro Day, he could be coming off the board much higher than expected.

The Michigan football team account tweeted out all the important numbers for each player participating in the Wolverines’ Pro Day. While most of the numbers seen under each player were what you typically would expect, Paye ran a 4.52 40-yard dash. Couple that 36 reps on the bench press and Paye could be soaring up many NFL teams’ draft boards. How high could he go?

Paye is a surefire lock to go in the first round this spring. While it feels like he is destined to go in the No. 13-15 range to teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots, Paye now stands an outside shot of going into the top 10. One of the quickest ways to improving as a football team is to get better in the trenches. Paye addresses that.

Though as many as five quarterbacks could go inside of the top 10, especially if some team falls in love with Alabama signal-caller Mac Jones, Paye could be one of the best non-quarterbacks taken in the top-half of the first round. He is a player teams could potentially trade back to get, pick up more compensation and get even more value here. Paye absolutely crushed it at his Pro Day.

There may come a time when we all wonder why so many teams passed on Paye in 2021.
