As the Minnesota Vikings possibly look to add in later waves of free agency, these three available players look like good fits.

The Minnesota Vikings created some cap room by letting some notable names go, but after signing Dalvin Tomlinson and Patrick Peterson their big moves in free agency are done. From here on out, any signings will come from the bargain bin in what has been a cap-squeezed market.

That depressed market presents some opportunities, and the Vikings have some holes left to fill (left tackle, defensive end, left guard, safety, No. 3 wide receiver). The draft will obviously provide a chance to fill some those needs, but this is a win-now operation for 2021 and relying on a bunch of rookies won’t be ideal.

3. OG/OT Forrest Lamp

After three injury-hampered seasons to start his career, Lamp started all 16 games at left guard for the Chargers last season. Anyone would be an upgrade over Dakota Dozier, and Lamp got a 60.7 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus in 2020 despite his overall grade not being that much better than Dozier’s.

The Vikings apparently liked Lamp during the 2017 pre-draft process. Circling back now, to simply get an adequate player at left guard, is definitely on the radar.
