Willie Roaf calls the Chiefs America’s team and Cowboys fans will hate it

Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Willie Roaf has let everyone know exactly who he thinks America’s Team is.

Look away Dallas Cowboys fans. You’re surely not going to like what Hall-of-Fame offensive tackle Willie Roaf had to say in a recent interview with FanSided’s Mark Carman. The massive lineman is a former Kansas City Chiefs standout and could not be happier with how the team has looked.

After winning the Super Bowl last season, the Chiefs are ready to try and go back-to-back, as they’ll face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady this Sunday with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. Regardless of the outcome, Roaf has come out and said that the Chiefs are no question ‘America’s team.’

Willie Roaf calling the Chiefs America’s team is sure to infuriate Cowboys fans

“This is a level that Kansas City has never been at,” Roaf said. “Kansas City is now America’s team. Kansas City went from being a small-market team to being America’s team right now with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek (Hill), (Travis) Kelce and all those guys. I’m excited for them.

“I’m excited they have another opportunity to go out and play (in the Super Bowl). They’re the young guns. I think the pressure is more on Brady because Brady wants to win another one and he made it in his first year in Tampa.”

While Roaf may be a little biased after spending four incredible years with the Chiefs from 2002-2005, in which he was a two-time First-Team All-Pro, there’s no denying Kansas City is playing at an elite level right now. With Mahomes under center, the offense has been virtually unstoppable throughout the campaign.

Come Sunday, we’ll find out if the Chiefs have what it takes to repeat as champs. If they do, Roaf very well may double down on his America’s team comments.
