Philip Rivers breaks down in tears discussing magical Colts year (Video)

Indianapolis Colts, NFL Playoffs

Philip Rivers was moved to tears at the podium discussing the 2020 Indianapolis Colts’ season.

The Indianapolis Colts fell 27-24 to the Buffalo Bills on Wild Card Weekend in what could be Philip Rivers‘ final game in the NFL.

Rivers had spent his first 16 NFL seasons out of North Carolina State University with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. He came to Indianapolis on a one-year deal to reunite with his former Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich, now the main man on the Colts. As Rivers reflected on the season that was, he was brought to tears thinking about this magical season.

Will this be the last game Philip Rivers plays in his NFL career?

Rivers is 39-years-old and has a job locked up to coach high school football as soon as he wants to. It is very important for him to coach high school football once his son hits ninth grade. There is also great speculation that he could go the Tony Romo route and begin an impressive career as a football analyst. It seems like it will be the 2021 Colts or nothing for the future Hall of Famer.

The eight-time Pro Bowler will likely go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks to never play in a Super Bowl. If he returns to the Colts for an 18th NFL season, Indianapolis will be in the mix to win the AFC South or get in as a Wild Card team like they did this past year. Should he hang up the spikes, we will see Rivers earn Canton enshrinement before the end of the 2020s.

If this is the end of the line for Rivers in the NFL, we know that he gave his all, all the time.
