Le’Veon Bell is ready for his Kansas City Chiefs debut
Bell will get some carries behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but we have yet to see exactly how Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy will feature the former All-Pro running back. Kansas City acquired Bell for cheap on the free agent market after he was cut by the Jets. Bell received a nice payout in his season-plus in New York, so he was willing to take a cheap deal with a chance to win the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs head to snowy Denver this week, and Bell is ready to show exactly what he has left in the tank for arguably the AFC favorite for to reach the Super Bowl.
If the Bell experiment works, the Chiefs will be unstoppable
There is no weakness on the Chiefs offense. The receiving core features Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman and Travis Kelce. The backs are elite, and the offensive line is among the most consistent in football. Not to mention Patrick Mahomes is hands-down the best quarterback in the NFL. How exactly do opposing defenses hope to stop KC?
At his best Bell was a multidimensional running back who could hurt you in the run and the pass game. He’d automatically become the best third-down back in the NFL, but there’s no way the Chiefs will limit his production to just a few plays a game.
KC won’t be afraid to play both Bell and Edwards-Helaire at the same time, as the former can be flanked out wide if need be as a decent slot receiver, or at least a decoy. The possibilities seem a little unfair.
