Mahomes and Matthews are engaged, but rather than celebrating just one major event over the next year, they’ll now have a welcomed traveler. The couple announced the news on Matthews’ personal Instagram account, as well as Mahomes’.
Matthews and Mahomes have had plenty to celebrate of late outside of their personal life, as the Kansas City Chiefs QB signed a $500 million contract extension this offseason, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. This came after the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years. Mahomes proposed to Matthews at the Chiefs ring ceremony.
Mahomes personal life is taking off as his professional life reaches new heights
Mahomes’ Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend in a matchup of what many pundits consider the top two teams in the entire NFL. Kansas City separated itself as the most talented of those squads with a sound victory on Monday night.
Matthews and Mahomes met in college and have been dating ever since. His rise to NFL prominence has created one of the more public professional athlete romances in recent memory. Matthews is always a staple at Chiefs games, and if she’s not in attendance, she’s certainly talking about the matchup on social media.
