5 reasons Steelers can win the Super Bowl this year

The Steelers limped to an 8-8 finish last season after losing Ben Roethlisberger to injury. With Big Ben back on the field, Pittsburgh can win it all.

Mike Tomlin might preside over the team most anxious to get on the field in 2020. The Steelers played really ugly football in 2019 without the services of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Officials in Pittsburgh believe his return has the franchise poised for big-time success this season.

The Steelers aren’t a team that will enter the season as one of the Super Bowl favorites, but they have the talent required to challenge the likes of Baltimore and Kansas City for NFL supremacy. Read on to learn the top five reasons why Pittsburgh can win a Super Bowl title this season.

5. Eric Ebron can really help Big Ben

Ebron isn’t the most reliable tight end in the NFL, but it’s foolish to ignore his obvious athletic ability. His combination of size and speed gives him a real chance to develop into one of Roethlisberger’s favorite targets.

The key, as always, for Ebron will be to prove to the Steelers coaching staff that he can play consistently good football. They didn’t invest so much in him this offseason that they’ll be afraid to bench him if he fails to play with the proper effort and focus.

The odds still strongly favor Ebron becoming a key cog in the Steelers offense in 2020. Look for him to get plenty of chances to run intermediate routes down the seam in Randy Fichtner’s scheme. The more chances he gets to make big plays down the field the more Ebron will feel connected to his new team. If he finds a way to produce 750 yards or more of receiving it’s going to elevate Pittsburgh’s aerial attack from good to great. Stopping him will be a key focus for Steelers’ opponents in 2020.
